Post 119 takes seriously the importance of having fun! Music and dancing, games and festivities! And we want that fun to include the entire community! Whether it is winter or summer, Post 119’s most important clients are the “locals” of Estes Park.
So let’s talk about the big question: If the American Legion Post is a private club, who gets to participate in all of these fun activities? There is basically only one restriction for non-members: liquor may only be served to members and their guests, unless it is on a day when a special event permit has been obtained by the Post. That usually happens for big Post events (e.g., July 4th) or private events on request. If you wish to drink an alcoholic beverage on a non-special-event day, have a good friend who is a member sign you in!
Each meal served at Post 119 is an amazing like-home-cooked meal at an incredibly low price. The weekly menu for the meals is posted on this Legion website, advertised in the newspapers, and updated in Facebook each week. Everyone is welcome to come for the meals, including non-members.
Post 119 has a gaming license that allows the playing of certain games of chance (queen of hearts, pickles and bingo) that are open to the public. You must be 21 or older to purchase pull tabs and queen of hearts tickets; 18 or older to purchase bingo packets. Underage guests may play if their parent makes the purchase. Queen of hearts drawing is at 7:00 pm each Friday.
Summer Bingo is played every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 pm beginning the first Tuesday after Memorial Day and continues through the last week of August. Winter Bingo is played on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm. All proceeds from bingo go to support Estes Park charities and American Legion programs.
